Australian Defence Force Camp 2012

On 29 to 31 March students of Kolbe Catholic College’s ADF Program were invited to attend a camp held at Lancelin.

The focus of this camp was respect, unity and awareness and encouraged students to explore how they felt about being a part of the Australian Defence Force Community.

Throughout the camp, students shared personal stories and issues that they do not usually discuss with others.  This challenged students to express their feelings about deployment and posting and afforded students the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of one another.

Whilst away students skills were also tested with a surfing session. This proved to be lots of fun and certainly provided many laughs as both students and staff struggled to stay upright! It was also a great opportunity for students to help one another to master a skill.

We all ended the camp on a high with newfound friendships and contacts.

I would like to thanks all the students who attended for their willingness to take part in all activities. Thanks must also go to Mr Ali Buckner and Mr Hew Edgar for supporting the camp.
