WORKPLACE LEARNING (WPL)

  • Curriculum Council Course. A different subject to Career and Enterprise.
  • Students keep evidence of completed 100 hours and their daily tasks in the workplace.
  • Students complete written tasks to determine their grade
  • Can be completed as endorsed units by Pathway 2 & 3 students using part time employment hours.

SCHOOL APPRENTICESHIP LINK (SAL)

 
  • 2 year program coordinated by Department of Education & Training (DET)
  • Students apply by application and may be interviewed
  • 7 Programs on offer
  •  Students complete 2 days at TAFE in Term 1
  • Students complete 1 day at TAFE and 1 day at Workplace Learning (WPL) Terms 2, 3 & 4
  • Students finish Year 12 with Secondary Graduation, TAFE certificates, credit toward an apprenticeship & workplace experiences

SCHOOL BASED TRAINEESHIP (SBT) AND APPRENTICESHIPS (SBA)

 
  • Students are paid by an employer to work in the workplace
  • Students study units of competency from a Certificate II Training Package, either at workplace or at TAFE
  • Students at workplace I day a week starting in Year 11 and remaining at same workplace until completion of 804 hours (Yr 11 & 12)
  • There is no cost to employers who sign up indigenous students

ENDORSED PROGRAMS

Up to 10 endorsed units (half) of a student’s study program can be made up of endorsed units.
