A Model of Campus Ministry
|
James Fowler (1991) presents a model of the
life and mission of the Church that draws on
five aspects of the life of the early Church.
kerygma
the telling of the story of God’s self-disclosure
and self-giving (revelation)
leitourgia
the work of the people in worship
koinonia
the spiritual fellowship of the community of
faith
diakonia
service, mission, vocation in the world
paideia
becoming aware of the rules, of the grammar,
of Christian living in the contemporary world,
with an eye on the future and, ultimately, the
heavenly kingdom. |

- Term 2
CAMPUS MINISTRY NEWS
Our students continue their involvement in many different forms of community service. Mrs Carlin has been ably supported by Maria Jo Garbin, one of our Ministry Captains. Maria has a team of students working with her on developing our Christian Service Learning Programme. Next Sunday, some of our students will assist with the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal. Recently, a small group of Year 10 students, led by Maria, met with a representative from a local soup kitchen initiative to learn how they and others can assist those who volunteer their services to the soup kitchen.
This term promises to be full of a variety of ministry activities. For the first time in the history of our College, Year 11 students will sit a formal Religious Education exam as part of the course known as Religion and Life. Our Year 12 students will attend their retreat in the last week of this term.
