Monday the 8th of May was a very exciting day of fun and games for our Year 7 students as they showed off their skills and sportsmanship in five different sports at the ACC Lightning Carnival. We had a total of 20 Kolbe teams participating in various sports across four venues in the western suburbs of Perth. The weather was kind and great spirit and enthusiasm were on display, which was great to see.
Our young athletes were beaming with pride as some of them put on the Kolbe colours for the first time to represent our College. Whether participating in Netball, Soccer, AFL, Ultimate Frisbee, or Rugby, players were very inclusive and encouraging of each other, cheering on goals and having a laugh throughout the day.
We are so proud of our Year 7s for giving it their all and displaying true sportsmanship on and off the courts and fields. This is just the beginning of their journey at Kolbe, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things they will accomplish in the future. Also a big thank you to our Year 10 PE Science students for leading the way and managing and coaching our teams to success. Well done to the Sports staff for their preparation for this event, which is a massive logistical exercise.
