Class of 2017 Graduation


Last night Kolbe Catholic College bid farewell to the Class of 2017 through a Graduation Mass and Ceremony.

The central theme of the night was ‘crossroads’, as the Graduating Class stand at a crossroad preparing to embark on another chapter of their life, a new road.

Leaders Camp



One of the first opportunities for our new student leaders to grow their leadership skills and bond together as a group was the annual Leaders Camp.

The camp was organised by the incoming Year 12 2018 student leaders, the first opportunity to work together as a team of 21.

Mrs Allison Van Der: Certificate III Health Support Services

Kolbe Catholic College is extremely lucky to have Mrs Allison van Der as part of the Science teaching team, who is also a former nurse.

Allison’s background in nursing made her the perfect candidate to teach the Certificate III Health Support Services VET qualification in 2018.

2017 Japan Tour

IMG_9722It took 12 days for St Maximilian Kolbe to travel from Shanghai to Nagasaki by ship back in 1930, but thanks to Singapore Airlines, it took only 24 hours for the College’s 2017 Japan Tour group!

The tour saw students visit popular tourist attractions, stay with host families and take part in school lessons.

2017 Art Exhibition



Thursday October 12 saw artwork created by our Year 7 to 12 students put on show at the College’s annual Art Exhibition.

The theme of night was inclusivity, promoting the idea that everyone has the chance to succeed in art as long as they are willing to try.

Aboriginal Youth Leadership Cambodia Trip

DSC00574The Balga to Boab Aboriginal Youth leadership program was evolved through the desire to develop strong young Aboriginal leaders while students are at school.

Recently, Year 10 student Caitlin Brahim and her family, along with our Aboriginal Engagement Officer Mrs Lisa Dann recently attended Cambodia through the program.

House Awards

On Friday 22 September we acknowledged the outstanding individual service of our respective houses.

In this assembly we acknowledged our Year Twelve students and staff who have given generously in serving their house and College over several years.

OPTI-Minds state finals

Through the College’s Gifted and Talented Program, six teams competed in the OPTI-Minds regional competition held on 26 August.

All teams represented the College well with Team four being awarded Honours while Team two was invited to compete in the State Final. Continue Reading…



In the lead up to the 2017 ACC ‘C Division’ Athletics Carnival, training attendance and enthusiasm was high amongst the Kolbe Catholic College competitors.

The ‘C Division’ proved to be very competitive and the end result didn’t reflect the talent and preparation of the competitors who represented the College.

The night saw all leaders from Years 7 to 12 come together with their families, with special focus put on the Year 12 leaders who are in their final week of school.
