2017 ATAR Results

The Year 12 students of 2017 can be extremely proud of their academic achievements. Twenty students who sat the WACE exams achieved an ATAR of 90 or above. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the incredible support given to our students, along with their hard work and dedication. AN17.4.1With the theme of, ‘Many Singing With One Heart’, Tuesday, December 5 saw Kolbe Catholic College hold its annual Awards Night at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.

The night saw families and staff gather to watch the award winners, along with the spectacle put on by the performing arts students.

Elizabeth Ferguson Speaks About Her Experiences

DSC_0102Organ and Tissue Authority DonateLife invited Year 9 student Elizabeth (Lizzie) Ferguson to be a guest speaker at their recent ‘Writing for Life’ prize-giving ceremony.

As a transplant recipient, Lizzie shared her experiences of two consecutive transplants in 2011 and 2015 and how they improved her quality of life.

Year 10 Outdoor Ed Camp: Semester 2

DSCN4685Semester two Year 10 Outdoor Education students were pushed to overcome challenges and reflect on all they have learnt through the recent Outdoor Ed Camp.

The students took on the Bibbulmun Track which runs from Kalamunda to Albany and is 1,000 kilometres in length!

Blake Edgell presents at SciTech

blake edgellThis week, Year 9 student Blake Edgell was invited to attend and represent Kolbe Catholic College at a TeachMeet held at SciTech.

The purpose of the event was for teachers to find new ways of making lessons more fun, engaging and entertaining for students, with Blake presenting his own thoughts.

Innov8or 2017

IMG_1488This year, Year 8 Kolbe Catholic College students took part in a range of activities covering many different learning areas as part of the Innov8or Program.

Activities included planning, shopping and then cooking a meal, visual arts, basic coding, and designing a solar car in design and technology.

2017 Rockingham Beach Cup

Over the weekend, the City of Rockingham held its Rockingham Beach Cup and Kolbe Catholic College students were in attendance.

Hannah Payne-Chidlow, Shelby Joule, Amileigh Perkins, Tatum Jacobs, Piper Clapton and Tim Lloyd were shaking tins in an effort to raise funds for charities the Australian Cancer Council and Variety.
