On Monday, May 15 the Year 10 cohort were presented with the countless career opportunities available after high school during Future Focus Day.
Leading up to the day students chose which sessions they would like to attend, with a range of WA universities, TAFES and industries represented by guest speakers.
Students gave positive feedback from the day and found it useful in finding out the possible opportunities for them in the future.
Jessica Thomas said it helped clarify what to expect when she goes on to university.
“Future focus day was an eye opening experience which taught me about what to expect at university.”
Nathan Young said the day helped narrow down his university choices.
“The information was very interesting and informative. The day gave me a greater insight into which university I want to choose in the future.”
Grace Weatherall said she enjoyed the freedom of choice when picking sessions.
“I really enjoyed it and thought it was really good how I got to choose the speakers that related to what I wanted to do.”
One of the highlights of the day was hearing from staff and former Kolbe Catholic College students about their post-high school stories.
Now that the Year 10 students have some idea of possible future pathways, the day will be followed up with the cohort attending the Careers Expo at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre next week.
A huge congratulations to Ms Carol Henderson and Mrs Kerry Donaldson for their overall coordination of the event and a thank you to all those who supported them in any way.
