DSC_0482Year 8 students solved real world problems facing developing countriesDSC_0513 as part of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) day on Monday, May 8.

Students tried their hands at recycling plastics to avoid landfill, controlling the spread of disease, transporting tomatoes down the side of a mountain, filtering water within a budget, building catapults and designing efficient wind turbines.

Some students even challenged themselves to try some coding.

Head of Science, Mrs Michelle Prasad said students enjoyed the day and it was fantastic seeing them think outside the box to solve these real world problems.
