Making Waves at Kolbe

The KCC Swimming Carnivals were held in Week 3 at the Rockingham Aquatic Centre and, as usual, it was a fantastic community celebration of the Kolbe spirit, both in and out of the water. 

Kolbe Carnivals are a festive spectacle with dancing, cheering and positive vibes, in addition to the friendly competition, fierce determination and passion of all participants. Well done to all involved, whether swimming for champion points or getting involved in the novelties for House Spirit Shield points.

I came dead last all the way in the relay but someone had to carry the boats! I remembered to slip, slop, slap so it was a great day of fun and games for me with my mates. Thanks PE team! – Levi (Year 11)

Xavier were triumphant for the second year in a row and Rice this year were adjudged the Spirit Shield winners for their healthy attendance, participation and efforts in the pool and around the year level activities.

Thank you to all staff, student helpers, ex-Kolbe students, House Leaders (especially our Sports Captains), and parents who attended and made the day a big success. It’s always a fun way to kick off the Kolbe sporting calendar.

Well done to the individual record breakers, Champions and Runners up, you should be proud of your achievements. With training starting now, our Interschool Swimming Team will be competing in the B Division Associated and Catholic Colleges (ACC) Swimming Carnival on Thursday 27th March (Week 8) – all the best for another strong meet!
