This past Wednesday, our school hosted the much-anticipated Year 13 Breakfast, welcoming back the Class of 2024. The Breakfast provided a wonderful opportunity for former students to reunite with their peers, reconnect with teachers, and, most importantly, receive their long-awaited yearbooks, giving them a chance to reflect on the incredible year they had together.
The atmosphere was filled with laughter, smiles and many hugs as students reconnected with their peers and staff and shared their post-Kolbe ventures. The breakfast also provided the Year 13’s the opportunity to revisit their deeply missed PC groups. This gave graduates a chance to reconnect with the younger students within the college and, also, meet and interact with the new Year 7 students, offering them insight and encouragement for the journey ahead. Molly Coomey shared, “I enjoyed seeing all my peers again and chatting to my favourite teachers about what I’ve been up to since leaving the college. It was nice to see my PC one more time and meeting all the new Year 7s.”
Jacynta Scanlan reflected on the event, saying, “The Year 13 breakfast was an incredible opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, who have been a part of our high school journey. It was a great chance to see how much my classmates have grown and embraced themselves over the past few months of being apart.”
The morning was a touching reminder of the bonds formed during school years, with many students cherishing the chance to reflect on their shared experiences. As Riley Ramos put it, “The Year 13 breakfast was great! It was good to be able to catch up with so many peers and teachers and share what we’ve been up to for the past couple of months.”
The Year 13 Breakfast was a celebration of friendships and shared experiences, reminding graduates that no matter where life takes them, they will always have a place in our Kolbe Community.
