At the end of last year, Kolbe Catholic College had the exciting opportunity to work alongside the 2026 Year 12 Portfolio Captains to design and create a brand-new collection of school banners for use at assemblies, celebrations and community events.
The project began as a collaborative process focused on student voice and creative inspiration. The captains played an important role in shaping the look and feel of the new banners, helping to create designs that reflect the identity, values and spirit of the Kolbe community. The finished collection features updated artwork for each of the College Houses, along with banners representing several newer portfolios, including Wellbeing and Performing Arts Technology.
The previous banners, lovingly hand-sewn by former Principal Ms Robyn Miller, have long held a special place in the College’s history. While these banners remain a treasured part of the Kolbe story, the new collection reflects the continued growth and evolution of the community. Vibrant and contemporary in design, the banners honour College traditions while bringing a refreshed presence to school events.
A special thank you also goes to Mr Jeremy Powell and members of the Design and Technology team, who generously designed and created a new set of poles and stands to showcase the banners professionally at College events.
This project has been a wonderful example of collaboration, creativity and school pride, and the College looks forward to the banners becoming a lasting feature of the Kolbe community for years to come.
