Enrolment Process
Kolbe Catholic College is a coeducational Catholic secondary school, catering for students in Year 7 to Year 12. Our staff works in partnership with students and parents to ensure each student reaches their full potential.
We currently have an enrolment of over 1200 students and welcome applications across all year levels from students and families who wish to become members of our College and community.
To apply for your child to attend Kolbe Catholic College, you are invited to complete an online application form. Due to the demand for places at Kolbe Catholic College, we encourage applications for enrolment into Year 7 to be lodged two years in advance and for all applicants to take note of the College Student Enrolment Procedure.
Please note that all places for Year 7 2025 and Year 7 2026 have been filled and there are currently no vacancies available. Applications received for these year groups will be waitlisted.
Should you require further information please do not hesitate to contact the College on (08) 9592 1500 or via email at enrolments-kolbe@cewa.edu.au
Enrolment steps
Step One: Visit Us
To ensure Kolbe Catholic College is the right fit for your family, we encourage you to visit us. We invite you and your child to join us on a student-led tour to explore our Campus and everything Kolbe has to offer. Bookings are essential.
Please book a tour or contact the College directly on (08) 9592 1500.
Step Two: Register your Application for Enrolment
Applying for enrolment at Kolbe Catholic College is not a formal commitment to attend the College. Completion of the Application for Enrolment Form ensures that your child is placed on a register for enrolment in the academic and calendar year nominated, but this does not guarantee your child a place at the College.
Please note that siblings do not automatically gain entry to the College. This enrolment procedure must be followed for each student in the family wishing to secure a place.
A registration fee of $55.00 per student is payable upon completion of the Application for Enrolment Form.
Please note that all places for Year 7 2025 and Year 7 2026 have been filled and there are currently no vacancies available. Applications received for these year groups will be waitlisted.
Year 7 Enrolment
Applications for Year 7 are considered up to two years prior to commencement at the College. In order for your application to be processed, you will need to provide the following in relation to the prospective student:
- their full birth certificate;
- a copy of their Visa or Australian Citizenship Certificate (if born overseas);
- a copy of their parents’ Visas or Australian Citizenship Certificates (if both parents born overseas);
- a copy of their Baptism Certificate;
- and their Australian Immunisation Record.
- OPTIONAL Parish Priest Reference Form
Year 8 to Year 12 Enrolment
In addition to the above documentation, the following must be submitted with applications for entry into Years 8 to 12:
- a covering letter to the Principal outlining the reasons for application;
- the prospective student’s two most recent semester school reports;
- their most recent NAPLAN results (if applicable);
- other supporting documentation, such as special interests, awards, certificates of achievement, etc.
Step Three: Interview
An enrolment interview will be conducted by a member of the College Executive Team, which requires both parents/guardians to be present (if possible) with the student.
In preparation for the interview, the parent/guardian and student will be required to complete a “Student Profile”, provided by the College Registrar prior to the interview, and submit the supporting documents listed in Step two.
Step Four: Confirmation of Enrolment
If your application is successful, the College will extend to you an offer of enrolment. To accept and confirm the prospective student’s place at the College, you will be asked to complete, sign and return an Acceptance of Enrolment Form and pay a non-refundable deposit of $750. This deposit is credited against the first school fees account in the year your child commences.
The Final Step
Information pertaining to your child’s commencement at the College, including orientation and subject selections, will be sent to you once enrolment is confirmed. For Year 7 enrolments, this will occur in Term 3 of the year prior to commencement.
Our Waitlist Process
- Each year, Kolbe Catholic College offers places to Year 5 students who wish to enter the College in Year 7. The cohort has usually been filled by the end of Term 2, two years prior to commencing.
- The College is unable to accept all students for whom an application is made. Certain criteria, listed below, along with pastoral considerations, are used to select the students to whom an invitation to attend an interview is extended. These guidelines are in accordance with Catholic Education of Western Australia Policy and offers priority as follows:
- Catholic students from Catholic schools with a Parish Priest reference;
- Catholic students from non-Catholic schools with a Parish Priest reference;
- other Catholic students from Catholic schools;
- other Catholic students from non-Catholic schools;
- siblings of non-Catholic students;
- non-Catholic students from Catholic schools;
- non-Catholic students from other Christian denominations;
- other non-Catholic students.
- Students who are unsuccessful in obtaining a position at the College are placed on a waitlist. When a position in the relevant year level becomes available, all applications are reviewed in accordance with the above guidelines and an opportunity to interview will be offered.
- You are welcome to place your child on the College’s waiting list, as casual vacancies do occur from time to time.
- Registering your child on the waitlist does not guarantee an offer of a place. At the conclusion of each year, we will write to you to confirm your child’s continuance on the College waitlist for the following year.
