WELCOME TO KOLBE

A co-educational Catholic secondary school located in the coastal town of Rockingham.

Set on a beautiful campus with modern facilities, enthusiastic and passionate staff, and a strong reputation for pastoral care and academic achievement, we work closely with families to guide and support our students during their journey at Kolbe.

Our mission is to nurture and celebrate our students. We aim to help them flourish by providing a welcoming environment — a place where they will feel loved and develop a genuine sense of belonging.

OUR COLLEGE

Founded in 1989 by a small group of community members, Kolbe Catholic College now caters for over 1200 students and employs over 130 staff to support their learning.

The College has been an Apple Distinguished School for over ten years and utilises innovative technologies to enhance student learning. Our unique programs are designed to support learning and development, while also keeping student wellbeing as a priority.

OUR HISTORY

In the early 1980s, a small group of community members began advocating for the establishment of the first Catholic secondary school along the southern corridor of the Perth metropolitan area.

The community put countless hours into the establishment of the College. They tirelessly cleared, planted and established the magnificent grounds we are so proud of today, appointed staff, sourced enrolments and set the College foundations. Rockingham’s first Catholic secondary school opened its doors for the first time to students in February 1989.

OUR PATRON

“Don’t ever forget to love.”
Saint Maximilian Kolbe

Kolbe Catholic College is named after Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe, a Polish Catholic priest who committed the ultimate heroic act of giving his life for a stranger. Maximilian Kolbe stood up in the Death Camp of Auschwitz, stepped forward to give his life for another and walked shoulder to shoulder with the other prisoners to meet his end. Our students are encouraged to carry the spirit of our patron saint in their hearts, and to show courage, faith and excellence in all facets of their lives.

THE KOLBE WAY

In the spirit of our Patron Saint we STAND UP, STEP FORWARD and WALK TOGETHER.

At Kolbe we are doing things the ‘Kolbe Way’. By connecting our College’s values to Saint Maximilian’s life, story and sacrifice, we seek to inspire our students and community to live an aspirational life each and every day. By standing up, stepping forward and walking together, we ensure the ‘Kolbe Way’ is used as a benchmark for each member of our community to work towards.

OUR CAMPUS

With a history of providing Catholic education in Western Australia for over thirty years, the College has developed a strong reputation as the school of choice in the area.

Set within the Rockingham educational precinct alongside the Rockingham campuses of Murdoch University and South Metropolitan TAFE, Kolbe has grown into a thriving school community with over 1,200 students enrolled from Years 7 to 12. We are blessed to have beautiful grounds that serve as a backdrop to our facilities, which are highly effective learning environments designed to prepare future-ready leaders and foster a true sense of belonging.
