Excellence at Kolbe

Jeannine Carrier (Deputy Principal)

On Wednesday September 18, the College gathered for an assembly that marked the end of an era for our Year 12 students, while also welcoming a new chapter for the 2025 student leaders. This assembly not only bid farewell to our Year 12s but also celebrated excellence in sports, leadership, and the community.

In their final speech to the school, the Year 12 Executive reflected on the importance of change and how many students within the school community were ‘leading the way, making positive changes that inspire others to do the same.’ They challenged all of us to be courageous and committed to make changes around us that would make the world a better place. With the departure of our Year 12 leaders came the exciting introduction of the new student leadership team. These students, chosen by their peers and teachers, will now take on the responsibility of guiding the student body through 2025.

The assembly was also a time to celebrate the remarkable achievements of students across the school. The House awards were presented to staff and students who have given generously in serving their House and the college. The Rockingham Citizenship Award, recognised Vienna, Macy, Ariana and Ava for their leadership and commitment to their studies.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) Future Innovators Award recognised students Orla and Euan for their excellence in the areas of Science and Mathematics and the Koort Award acknowledged Mr Darren Russell and Year 12 student Reuben for the positive impact that they have had on those around them in the Kolbe community.

For our Year 12s, this assembly was a final farewell as they moved on to new horizons. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours, confident that they will continue to shine wherever they go. To our new student leaders, congratulations once again on your induction. The future of our school is in your capable hands, and we look forward to the positive change you will bring.

And to all our students who were recognized for their achievements—whether in sports, leadership, or community service—thank you for setting such a wonderful example. You inspire us all to strive for greatness and give back in meaningful ways.
