Over the July school holidays, a group of 12 students and three teachers are jetting off to Flores, Indonesia for a cultural immersion tour. We’ve set our sights on gathering $15,000 to help out the people in Flores. The plan? Building schools and homes for teachers in the remote communities of the island. To kick off our fundraising efforts, we held a quiz night at the College on Saturday, 4 May.
“Having the room packed with our family and friends made it an awesome atmosphere and such a lovely event.” – Maddie, Year 11.
The vibe of the night was unforgettable! Family and friends of the students attending came together with one mission: to make a positive difference. With trivia battles and good vibes all around, everyone pitched in to support communities in need. Year 12 student Dylan couldn’t help but be amazed, saying, “Seeing how everyone rallied behind the trip was just mind-blowing.”
Big thanks are in order for everyone’s generosity. With their help, we managed to raise over $10,000, which will go a long way in helping those in these remote communities. This money will help build schools, meaning students will no longer have to walk extreme distances to attend school, making life a little easier for those who need it most.
The success of the quiz night is a testament to the dedication of the students attending Flores. It’s proof that when people come together with heart and determination, incredible things can happen.
