Last Friday, Kolbe Catholic College became a sea of sporting colour as students and staff proudly wore the jerseys of their favourite teams in support of LifeLink.
For a gold coin donation, our community swapped the usual uniform for jerseys representing teams from across Australia and around the world, raising much needed funds for LifeLink and the social service agencies it supports throughout the Archdiocese of Perth.
Year 12 Ministry Captain Daniela reflected on the wonderful sense of community created by the day, saying, “Jersey Day presented a diversity of colours from staff and students and different cultures that not only brought together our school community, but allowed us to work collectively to share our faith and bring hope to those who need it”.
Fellow Year 12 Ministry Captain Reese highlighted why supporting LifeLink is so important: “LifeLink supports social service agencies that provide help for those in need. In our community, this includes emergency relief, housing support, counselling and health care, highlighting why we are so eager to support the foundation and, in turn, our community”.
While Jersey Day provided plenty of friendly sporting rivalry and colour, at its heart was something much greater: our community coming together to put faith into action and support those who need it most.
