Last week, Kolbe held its third annual Pink Up fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation. 2025 is particularly special as the McGrath Foundation has extended its care to patients facing all types of cancer, something that made this year’s event even more meaningful. With perfectly pink accessories, a beautiful spread of baked goods, and a spectacularly successful sausage sizzle, our community once again stood together in solidarity to raise over $4,000. This brings our all-time total to $16,000, which has helped fund the McGrath Cancer Care Nurses that have offered support to over 161,000 Australians facing cancer in the last 20 years.
The McGrath Foundation also recognised Leon’s efforts over the last 3 years by donating a very special cap and cricket ball autographed by none other than the legendary Glenn McGrath himself! A raffle was held at our final assembly, and we congratulate the lucky winners Mr Iriks and Mrs Mestrovic on taking home the prizes!
Pink Up KCC was an overwhelming success thanks to the efforts of our College Captain, Leon, leading the charge to raise awareness and funds in honour of his Mum who was lovingly supported by McGrath nurses during her brave battle with breast cancer. We owe special thanks to the wonderful Kolbe families who so generously supported our fundraising efforts by donating, purchasing pink accessories, or baking up a storm to support the bake sale. A heartfelt thanks must also go to Kingston Kitchens (our fabulous school cafeteria) and Kolbe parent and alumnus Tim from Malibu IGA for their generous donation on rolls and sausages for the lunchtime sausage sizzle. We are incredibly grateful for all the love and support from our community, and from the bottom of our hearts we say THANK YOU!!
