Kolbe Catholic College commenced Term 2 with an inspiring and energetic Whole School Assembly, celebrating student achievement, leadership, service and the strong sense of community that defines life at Kolbe. The assembly highlighted the many ways students are contributing to College life and set a positive tone for the busy term ahead.
Students from each House were recognised for their outstanding contributions, leadership and House pride, reflecting the values of service, compassion and commitment within the Kolbe community. A special moment of the assembly was the induction of the 2026 Year 7 Student Councillors: Alyssa (Chisholm), Aurora (Loyola), Leo (MacKillop), Eamon (Rice), Dylan (Teresa) and Harper (Xavier). These students were acknowledged for their leadership potential and willingness to represent and support their peers throughout the year.
The Student Executive team also delivered a powerful address centred on the College theme, “A Million Ways to Max It.” Their message challenged students to recognise that success is not only about personal achievement, but also about lifting others up through encouragement, inclusion and kindness. Students were reminded that Kolbe is strongest when everyone works together to support one another, particularly during a busy term filled with assessments, performances, carnivals and co-curricular opportunities.
A strong focus on faith, compassion and service was also evident throughout the assembly. Students were encouraged to embrace opportunities to give back through a range of charitable initiatives this term. Rice House launched fundraising efforts for Bears 4 Chairs, while the Ministry Team thanked the College community for its generous support of Project Compassion and introduced upcoming initiatives including Soak A Senior, the Kolbe Intention Tree and the return of Tim Tams and Jesus. Together, these initiatives reflect Kolbe’s ongoing commitment to faith, generosity and supporting those in need.
The assembly also celebrated outstanding achievements across both the Arts and Sport, highlighting the incredible talent and dedication of Kolbe students. At the 2026 Kwinana Industries Council Youth Art Awards, students earned seven awards across categories including Visual Art, Design, Metalwork and Fashion, with additional students recognised for contributing to the College’s impressive exhibition showcase.
Students were also acknowledged for exceptional achievements in swimming, athletics, equestrian and ACC competitions, including national-level performances and ACC All Stars selections. A special highlight of the assembly was welcoming Mrs Rebecca Abe from ACC Sport to present the prestigious ACC Letters Award to Year 10 student Brielle. This significant honour recognises four years of ACC All Stars selection and reflects Brielle’s sustained excellence, dedication and outstanding achievement in school sport.
The assembly was a wonderful celebration of the talent, leadership, generosity and spirit that exists within the Kolbe community, and an inspiring way to begin another exciting term at the College.
