Kolbe’s new gymnasium was filled with energy and community spirit on Saturday 9 May as families, staff, alumni and supporters came together for the 2026 Flores Quiz Night.
Held as a fundraiser for the upcoming Flores Immersion Tour, the evening provided a fantastic opportunity for the College community to support the important work being carried out in Flores, Indonesia, with Flores Village Partners.
The Flores Immersion Tour gives Year 11 and 12 students the opportunity to travel to remote communities in Flores, where they assist with projects aimed at improving access to education and living conditions. Students also experience cultural immersion and develop meaningful connections with local communities.
A special highlight of the evening was the involvement of past Flores students, who returned to help run the event alongside the 2026 Flores students and staff. Their continued support reflected the lasting impact the immersion experience has on those involved.
Importantly, all funds raised from the quiz night will go directly towards supporting Florenese communities through Flores Village Partners, ensuring the impact of the evening reaches those who need it most. In particular, the fundraising efforts will contribute towards the completion of the two-storey Matago Junior High School currently under construction.
The College offers its sincere thanks to the Kolbe P&F for their financial support of the event, as well as to the many local businesses and sponsors who generously donated prizes throughout the evening. Special thanks are also extended to the Kenly family, who are Kolbe community members, for their contributions in helping make the event such a success.
