Kolbe Catholic College hosted the highly anticipated FORGE Art and Technology Exhibition on October 24, transforming Block 2 into a vibrant showcase of student creativity. This annual event brought together students, staff, and the wider community to celebrate the talents of Kolbe’s Visual Arts, Media Arts, Photography, and Design & Technology departments.
“The 2024 FORGE Art Exhibition was a proud celebration of our students’ incredible talent and creativity in the Arts, made unforgettable by the strong support of our college community,” said Kim Mitchell, Art Teacher.
The exhibition featured a diverse range of student work, from intricate wood and metal furniture and design to stunning photography, 2D and 3D Art and Media films and posters. Year 10 music students provided live performances, while Year 11 Hospitality students offered delicious refreshments, creating a welcoming and lively atmosphere for all attendees.
Special awards, including the Leanne Joyce Photography Awards, Guest Artist Awards and the Principal Awards for Visual Art and Design & Technology, recognised outstanding achievements. Guest artist Jamie Flunder commented, “The 2024 Forge Exhibition yet again showcased the exceptional creativity and hard work of the Kolbe students. The team at Kolbe should be proud of such a well regarded event.”
Forge 2024 not only highlighted the passion and dedication of Kolbe students but also reinforced the importance of art in education and the community.
