On Friday, 13 June, Kolbe Catholic College held its annual Year 10 Future Pathways Day—a dedicated day designed to help students look beyond the classroom and begin thinking about life in Senior School and beyond.
The day kicked off with an inspiring alumni panel, where former Kolbe students returned to share their post-school journeys. Their stories were honest, reassuring, and relatable—reminding students that plans can change, and it’s perfectly okay not to have it all figured out in Year 10.
After the panel, students branched off into workshops tailored to their interests. Those exploring university pathways participate in sessions run by representatives from Murdoch, Notre Dame, UWA, and ECU, gaining insight into university life, course options, and how the ATAR system works.
At the same time, students interested in more hands-on careers visited South Metropolitan TAFE and the Jobs and Skills Centre, where they discovered the many exciting vocational education and training pathways available.
Back on campus, students had the chance to try their hand at practical industry activities, giving them a real taste of different career options. From creative fields to technical trades, these sessions helped students reflect on their own skills, interests, and the broad range of paths open to them after graduation.
Thanks to the support of our guest presenters, partner organisations and dedicated staff, our Year 10s walked away from the day feeling more informed, empowered, and excited about what lies ahead.
With clearer direction and a deeper understanding of their options, they’re now ready to take the next steps toward shaping their own futures.
