Basketball Year 7-9 Girls & Year 8-9 Boys

Monday 4 August | Mike Barnett

 Year 7-9 Girls

Our A Team girls were simply unstoppable, winning every game, scoring over 40 points each time, and keeping their opponents under 20! A dominant display from start to finish, earning them a place in the finals later this term.

Team B weren’t far behind, winning all but one match (their only loss was to our A Team!). A huge shout-out to our Year 7 debutants, you were incredible!

Year 8–9 Boys

Team 1 stormed into the Grand Final after losing just one game in the group stage to eventual winners Divine Mercy. At half-time in the decider, the boys trailed by just 2 points before Divine Mercy pulled away. Still, second place is a stellar result.

Team 2 also impressed, claiming third after defeating Living Waters in a tense playoff. Special mentions to Blake for his power in the paint, Andrew for setting the tone, Samuel for his steals and 3-pointers, and Oliver for his blocks and field goals.

RKAS Lower School Soccer

Wednesday 6 August | King’s College | WIN 10:1

Kolbe’s ‘Yellow Submarines’ kicked off the season in style with a 10–1 win against King’s College. After going 1–0 down, Kolbe levelled before half-time, then exploded in the second half. Fin was electric down the right wing, Michael and brother Eamon shared the goals (4 and 3 each), and captain Shelby marshalled a rock-solid defence. A perfect start to the season!

Netball Year 7/8 Girls, Year 9/10 Girls, Year 11/12 Boys

Wednesday 6 August | Matthew’s Netball Centre

It was a big day at Matthews Netball Centre with our Year 7/8 girls, Year 9/10 girls, and Year 11/12 boys all in action. Our 7/8 girls bounced back from a first-game loss to win two matches, then beat Kennedy Baptist in finals before bowing out to Duncraig. The 9/10 girls finished 2nd in their pool before a tough loss to Warwick. Our Year 11/12 boys also took 2nd in their pool and faced Emmanuel in a nail-biting crossover that ended in a draw, only to be edged out in overtime.

Soccer Senior Boys Quarter Final

Tuesday 12 August | St Norbert’s | Loss 1-0

Kolbe’s ACC Senior Soccer side bowed out 1–0 to St Norbert’s but not without a fight. Man of the Match Mitch was immense, and the whole squad left it all on the pitch. On another day, we might have been 3–0 up at half-time but that’s football. Heads held high, boys!

AFL Carnival Year 9-10 Girls

Wednesday 13 August | South Coogee

Our Year 9-10 girls played four games, winning three. Skipper Abbey led from the ruck, inspiring a comeback in game one. The standout moment came against favourites ECC – trailing late, Ruby bent through a stunning boundary goal before Violet sealed a famous win. Although they fell short in the final game, they finished as proud runners-up. Big efforts from Bella in defence, Tyler under pressure, and Sophia in the contest.

ACC Netball Carnival Senior Boys

Wednesday 13 August | La Salle | Win 28-26

Our Senior Boys took on La Salle Catholic College in the ACC Semi Final at Wembley’s State Netball Centre and delivered! In a thrilling match, they came out 28–26 winners to secure a Grand Final spot against Ursula Frayne CC next Tuesday. Win that, and they’ll be crowned the best ACC school in the state.

Good luck to Lachlan, Hayden, Riley, Thomas, Clarence, Daniel, Pietro, Lincoln, Saxon, and Zayde – we’re behind you all the way!
