MacKillop House came together on Wednesday 9 September to celebrate MacKillop House Day, honouring the life and mission of Saint Mary MacKillop. Held across our school, the day brought students and staff together in a spirit of gratitude, service and community, living out our House motto: “Never see a need without doing something about it.”
The morning began with a beautiful House Mass, where students reflected on Mary MacKillop’s compassion, courage and commitment to helping others. Year 11 student Emme shared, “MacKillop House Day reminds us why Mary MacKillop is such a role model and shows us that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.”
After Mass, students enjoyed a range of friendly competitions, including volleyball, dodgeball, basketball and cupcake baking, showing what MacKillop House is all about. Year 12 student Filipa said, “The games were so fun seeing all the Year 12s come together for their last MacKillop House Day.”
At lunchtime, the House gathered for a sausage sizzle, taking the opportunity to spend time together and enjoy our House community.
MacKillop House Day was a reminder of what makes MacKillop special: a connected community carrying on Mary MacKillop’s legacy.
