To celebrate our “Playing with Maths” themed Maths Week 2024, our students engaged in
mathematical and strategy games and competitions, as well as “playing” with mathematics itself through exploring, experimenting, and discovering in our Maths classes.
155 of our best Maths problem solvers participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition, enabling them to showcase their maths skills and compete against the best Maths students across Australasia.
The WLC designed an incredible life-size Snakes and Ladders game that students eagerly played whenever they had the chance.
Students also participated in various lunchtime competitions in the WLC. The standout events were the Connect 4 Competition, won by Year 12 student Dawon, and the Push Your Luck Competition, where Year 12 student Mathew excelled.
Our competition to match Maths teachers with their favourite movies was a hit! Jett from Year 9 won by being the first to get 5 out of 11 correct answers.
Congratulations to PAMPLONA PC and HIGHGATE PC for achieving a perfect score of 5 out of 5 on the PC Maths quiz. The quiz featured five maths questions with an Olympic twist. Try your hand at one of the questions: Can you solve it?
