On Sunday 24 May, more than 150 Kolbe students proudly represented the College at the annual HBF Run for a Reason in the Perth CBD. Despite the cold early morning conditions, students participated in both the 3km and 12km events alongside staff, families and thousands of participants from across Western Australia.
The event provided students with the opportunity to challenge themselves physically while supporting a cause close to the hearts of the Kolbe community. Through their fundraising efforts, students raised close to $7,000 for Breast Cancer Care WA, making Kolbe Catholic College the highest fundraising team for the charity at this year’s event. The funds raised will help provide essential support and care for individuals and families impacted by breast cancer.
The day was filled with energy, encouragement and a strong sense of community spirit as students motivated one another throughout the event and celebrated together at the finish line. Participation in events such as HBF Run for a Reason reflects the values of compassion, service and active citizenship that are central to life at Kolbe Catholic College.
Year 11 student Grace shared, “It was really inspiring to see so many people getting involved and supporting such a great cause together.”
Year 10 student Theo, who completed the 12km event, said, “Seeing how many people take part each year and how much money gets raised for charity is incredible.”
Kolbe Catholic College congratulates all students, families and staff involved and thanks everyone who generously donated to support Breast Cancer Care WA.
