On Friday 22 May, 12 Kolbe students attended the Inclusive Sport Fun Run and Activity Day, organised by the Associated and Catholic Colleges at Jackadder Reserve in Woodlands. The event promotes inclusivity and provides opportunities for students of all abilities to participate in sport, connect with others and feel valued within the community.
The day began with a fun run around the picturesque Jackadder Reserve Lake, with students participating enthusiastically and representing Kolbe with pride, positivity and determination.
Throughout the day, students rotated through a range of engaging activities including DJ Dance, soccer relays, blind soccer, picnic games and other team challenges. The highlight for many students was the DJ Dance session, where everyone came together to dance, celebrate and enjoy the energetic atmosphere. Shaune impressed students and staff alike with his confidence and fantastic dance moves on the dance floor.
Several students were also recognised for their efforts throughout the activities. Year 10 student Kylie celebrated success in one team game, while Sabrina in Year 9 achieved victories in two team challenges. Alfie, Year 7, was praised for his impressive speed and control during the soccer relay event.
Students reflected positively on the experience. Kylie shared, “It was fun. I enjoyed the walk around the lake.” Ashia added, “Amazing! Loved the DJ dance session. We all got together and danced.” Sabrina commented, “I enjoyed the whole day. We should go again next year!”
The Inclusive Sport Fun Run and Activity Day was a fantastic experience for all involved, celebrating friendship, teamwork and the importance of inclusion.
