Last Thursday, the Kolbe community enjoyed an evening of live music, delicious food, and great company at Groovin’ the Nue. This much-anticipated event transformed the school grounds into a vibrant festival where students, families, and staff could relax and enjoy an incredible showcase of student talent.
The event featured outstanding performances from bands, across all year levels, who played a mix of classic hits and modern tunes, creating the perfect atmosphere as the sun set over our campus. The dedication of our students was truly evident, learning their performances in just five weeks and some Year 9 students impressively learning new instruments for the night in just two weeks! Kids played games and danced along the avenue, as families and friends appreciated the hard work and commitment of our musicians.

Food trucks provided tasty treats and added to the festive spirit, and our P&F Association generously donated soft drinks to help the audience keep cool.

The Kolbe Parents & Friends Association don’t run raffles and bake sales, they make meaningful decision and organise rock concerts! Kylee Dogan, P&F Chair, couldn’t hold back her praise of Kolbe students, Performing Arts staff and our community “Kolbe students once again proved their musical talent at Groovin’ the Nue, leaving the crowd of family, friends and fans, energised and entertained. It was an incredible night and the atmosphere was nothing short of electric. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the performers. If this year was anything to go by, we can’t wait for next year!”
With its fantastic performances and our strong Kolbe Spirit, Groovin’ the Nue was a night to remember. This event truly showcased the talent, dedication, and the community that make the college such a special place.
