Groovin’ the Nue once again lit up the Kolbe calendar, delivering a relaxed, joyful evening where student talent sparkled and our community came together.
Students from every year group and skill level took to the stage, performing a wide range of instruments and genres. The result was a festival-like atmosphere that had families, friends, and staff clapping, singing, and dancing along. Some very brave Year 7s even made their stage debut after just a few weeks of learning their instruments.
“I was a bit nervous playing for the first time, but it was amazing to be part of the band and hear the crowd cheering us on!” shared one of the debut performers. A parent reflected, “It’s so nice to see the kids performing with such confidence and having fun. We love school events like this!”
The stage and surrounding areas glowed under outdoor lighting generously provided by our Parents & Friends Association. Our Year 12 Hospitality students served barista-quality coffees, teas, and hot chocolates, which perfectly complemented the student-run bake sale that raised nearly $500 for Project Compassion. Meanwhile, P&F volunteers kept everyone fed and refreshed with a free sausage sizzle and cool drinks.
A huge thank you to our Performing Arts staff for their incredible work setting up and running the evening, and to our Parents & Friends Association for supporting our students and the wider community, helping make Groovin’ the Nue another unforgettable event.
