Our Year 7 students have made a fantastic start to life at Kolbe. The journey began on Monday when the students were welcomed to the school via a guard of honour formed by our Year 12 students.
“The guard of honour was so special, it made me feel really confident to be starting at Kolbe especially since they are the oldest students in the school. I have loved having my own locker and getting my books organised between classes too.”

Following our Year 7 theme of Belonging, one of the major goals for the first few weeks of Year 7 is establishing positive relationships and building these new connections. This year, we have students from over 20 different primary schools, and it has been wonderful to see new friendships being formed so quickly.

The Year 7 Staff have been so impressed with the way our new Year 7s have started in the classroom. They are already learning to use their diaries effectively, and now that they have received their iPads, many new and exciting learning opportunities can begin.
“I love going to PC each morning, it makes me feel calm coming to school because everyone has been so nice and helpful. I have also loved being involved in the Beauty and the Beast rehearsal, which I auditioned for last year. It has allowed me to make friends quickly and even students in other year groups.

As the term continues, we’ll soon begin preparing for our much anticipated Year 7 camp. Camp provides a fantastic opportunity for students to strengthen friendships, build confidence, and continue developing their sense of belonging within the Kolbe community. With so many exciting experiences ahead, we can’t wait to see our Year 7s continue to grow, connect, and thrive throughout the year!
