Wellbeing – Stay Active

Jenefer Wiltschut (Head of Wellbeing)

The Kolbe community is still buzzing from our first major sporting event of the year, our annual Interhouse Swimming Carnival! It was a day filled with laughter, cheers, and of course, plenty of splashing to cool down from the warm temperatures we’ve been having recently. As we reflect on the event, we’re reminded of the importance of staying active, not just during special occasions like the carnival, but as a part of our daily lives.

The Swimming Carnival was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their skills, sportsmanship, and school spirit. Whether they were racing through the lanes or cheering from the sidelines, every participant contributed to the vibrant atmosphere of the day. It was truly heart-warming to see students of all ages coming together to celebrate physical activity and healthy competition.

Engaging in regular physical activity is not only beneficial for our physical health but also plays a crucial role in promoting mental well-being. As part of the Five Ways to Wellbeing, being active is key to maintaining a balanced and fulfilling life. Whether it’s swimming, playing sports, or simply going for a walk, finding activities that we enjoy can have a profound impact on our overall happiness and resilience.

As we look ahead into 2024, we encourage all of our students to prioritise their health and well-being by incorporating regular physical activity into their daily routines. It could be joining a sports team, going for a bike ride with friends, or even joining in with one of the many extra-curricular activities on offer. Whatever activity you choose, every small step counts towards a healthier, happier life.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the students, families, and staff who contributed to making the Swimming Carnival a resounding success. Your enthusiasm and support are truly appreciated, and we look forward to many more memorable events in the future.
