Over the past fortnight, a number of our Year 11 & 12 students have engaged in a Workplace Learning block, gaining firsthand experience across a wide range of industries. From electrical, automotive trades to primary education, childcare, retail, radio, and more.
Workplace learning allows students to develop practical skills, build confidence and gain an understanding of workplace expectations. Whether they were supporting young children in an early learning setting or assisting on busy work sites, each student brought enthusiasm and a strong willingness to learn. For many it was an opportunity to put into practice the theory they have been learning at TAFE.
The diversity of placements reflects the broad opportunities of our students and the strong community connections fostered by our Pathways team. Students are able to return to school with a renewed sense of direction and clarity around their career goals.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the local businesses who opened their doors and invested time in mentoring our students. Your support is invaluable.
A special thank you goes to Mrs Monique Munro for her outstanding coordination of the Workplace Learning Program.
If you or your business would be interested in hosting a student in the future, please contact our Pathways Team at pathways-kolbe@cewa.edu.au we would love to hear from you!
