On Wednesday 3 November, the Year 10 students gathered for one of the most anticipated events of the year, the annual Year 10 River Cruise. With the theme “Summer Vibes”, the evening could not have been more perfect. Bathed in sunshine and a balmy 27-degree temperature, it truly felt as though summer was just around the corner.
In the weeks leading up to the event, excitement was building as students carefully planned their outfits and looked forward to spending time together outside the classroom. When the evening finally arrived, everyone looked fantastic and embraced the vibrant summer atmosphere.
As the cruise made its way along the picturesque Swan River, students enjoyed spectacular views, great music, pizza, Krispy Kremes and, most importantly, the opportunity to celebrate together as a year group. The dance floor was packed for most of the night, with students dancing the evening away and creating memories that will last well beyond their time in Year 10.
One student reflected, “It was great to see the whole year group together and having fun.” Another shared, “What a way to celebrate the end of Year 10!” A third student summed up the mood of the evening perfectly, saying, “Next year we’re heading into senior school, but for now it was great to enjoy one last night together before it’s heads down for exams.”
The River Cruise was a wonderful celebration of the friendships, achievements and spirit of the Year 10 cohort, providing the perfect opportunity to mark the end of another memorable year at Kolbe.
