What an incredible day for Kolbe at the ACC A Division Swimming Carnival!
Held at Perth HPC, 110 of our students were up bright and early to represent the College, and they did so with outstanding determination, teamwork and Kolbe spirit.
Kolbe finished an amazing 4th overall in the A Division competition, behind Sacred Heart, John XXIII College and Newman College, a fantastic result that confirms our place among the top-performing Catholic schools in the pool.
Our senior girls were once again a standout, finishing 3rd in both the Senior Shield and the Overall Girls Shield, an exceptional effort!
We are so proud not only of the talent and commitment shown in the pool, but also of the incredible attitude, behaviour and support our students displayed throughout the day. After weeks of early morning training, our swimmers came together as one united team and truly embodied what it means to be Kolbe.
Year 7 students attending their first secondary school carnival quoted “Today was really fun and I enjoyed seeing everyone race and doing well in their races. I thought that it was really amazing to see the hard work and commitment that everyone put in to be here today.”
Breaking Records, the Kolbe Way
History has been rewritten in the pool as Year 10 student Brielle delivered a phenomenal race to break a 34-year-old ACC record in the U17 Girls 50m breaststroke by an incredible 2 seconds. And as luck would have it, it wasn’t just any record! It was one previously held by one of Kolbe’s very own Foundation students, Miranda Swann, making this an unforgettable full-circle moment in Kolbe history. From one Kolbe champion to another, the legacy continues!
Adding to the celebration, Miranda herself shared a heartfelt video message to congratulate Brielle at the ACC Carnival, a truly special moment that highlights the strength of our Kolbe community across generations.
