The recent school assembly was a moment to celebrate and acknowledge our students’ achievements and contributions across various areas. Congratulations to all of the students who were recognised with House Awards for their positive contributions to their House. These individuals have gone above and beyond, showing kindness, leadership, and a commitment to making Kolbe a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.
Year 9 student Lauren was awarded the Koort Award for her dedication to the Kolbe College community. Her active involvement in Choir, Bushrangers, the College Musical, and Art Club has greatly enriched school life. A committed leader, Lauren volunteers regularly within her PC group and has excelled as a Year 9 Leader in Rice House, creating a positive and supportive environment.
We also recognised our top mathematicians who represented our school in the recent Australian Mathematics Competition. Their hard work, sharp analytical skills, and dedication paid off. We are incredibly proud to announce that 23 of our students achieved a Distinction, placing them in the top 20% of participants nationwide. Even more remarkable, one of our students earned a prestigious High Distinction. That means that 1 in 9 of our participants ranked among the top 20% in the country—a tremendous accomplishment for our school and a testament to their hard work and dedication to mathematics.
Mr Alweyn also introduced our Year 12 Student Executive Team for 2025. These students have shown exceptional leadership and commitment to the college and they will lead the 2025 student leaders in driving initiatives, fostering school spirit, and representing the voices of their peers.
