What an incredible night it was at Kolbe Catholic College, as students, families, and staff came together to celebrate the Opening Night of the 2025 FORGE Art Exhibition. The air was alive with creativity, colour, and community spirit — a reflection of everything that makes Kolbe’s arts community so special.
This year’s FORGE was bigger and brighter than ever before. Having grown in both size and scope, the exhibition expanded across the Visual Arts and Design & Technologies blocks, showcasing the extraordinary talents of students in art, media, photography, textiles, design, woodwork, and metalwork. Each space offered something new to discover — from delicate hand-stitched fabrics to bold abstract paintings and innovative design projects.
“I have been coming to FORGE for years, and each year I am blown away by the talent in all the different genres of art,” one guest shared. “This year is no exception. It was amazing — I loved that it expanded into the D&T Block!”
The evening had a wonderful sense of connection and pride. Guests wandered between rooms filled with vibrant displays, the sound of live music, and the irresistible aroma of delicious food prepared by our Year 11 Hospitality students.
“It was a fun evening and we had a great time serving our Kolbe community,” said Nellie, a Year 11 Hospitality student.
There was a genuine buzz in the air — a mix of excitement, admiration, and gratitude. Families paused to take photos, students proudly pointed out their work, and teachers mingled with guests to celebrate the remarkable achievements on display.
The highlight of the evening was celebrating our award-winning artists and designers. Their creativity, dedication, and courage to express themselves continue to inspire the entire Kolbe community.
“The FORGE exhibition has always been one of my favourite events of the school year,” said Casey, this year’s Forge Winner for Year 11. “It fills me with a sense of pride that’s difficult to find elsewhere. I believe it’s a time where we can celebrate each other’s talents and come together.”
Each artwork told a story — of curiosity, perseverance, and passion. From the intricate detail of a pencil drawing to the innovation behind a hand-built chair, FORGE reminded everyone that creativity thrives when it’s shared and celebrated.
As the evening drew to a close, the sense of joy and pride lingered. FORGE wasn’t just an exhibition; it was a celebration of imagination, collaboration, and community.
