Earlier this term, our Year 10 leaders proudly represented Kolbe Catholic College at the Archbishop’s Launch for LifeLink Day, hosted by Aranmore Catholic College. Each year, this special gathering unites schools from across the Archdiocese of Perth in support of LifeLink, the Archdiocese’s charity that provides direct aid to Western Australians experiencing hardship. LifeLink’s agencies reach thousands each year, offering services ranging from emergency relief and meals, to housing, counselling, and mental health support.
The launch provided students with an opportunity to reflect on how faith is lived out in action and how, as young leaders, they too are called to serve with compassion. During the Q&A session, Kolbe’s Lauren and Sienna represented the College with distinction, posing thoughtful and challenging questions that encouraged meaningful discussion with the Archbishop and bishops present.
For Lauren, the day was particularly significant:
“This was an incredible opportunity to learn about not only an amazing organisation directly from the Archbishop and Bishop but to learn more about them, their experiences and have a safe space to ask questions and learn about our faith.”
Events such as this remind us that our Catholic identity is not just something we celebrate in prayer, but something we live out through service to others. We are proud of our Year 10 leaders for embracing this opportunity to grow in faith, knowledge, and love of neighbour.
