On Wednesday, June 25, the Kolbe Catholic College community gathered for a Whole School Assembly to celebrate student achievements and reflect on the journey so far. As we reach the halfway point of the academic year, students were encouraged to pause, recognise their growth, and consider how they can continue to improve—guided by the values of the Kolbe Way.
The assembly highlighted the outstanding efforts of students across all year levels. Our House Captains proudly presented awards to students who exemplify the spirit of Kolbe—through leadership, service, and active participation in school life. The prestigious Koort Award was presented to Delilah (Year 7) for her quiet compassion, patience, and selfless care for others.
KolbeCare Captain Leon reflected on the powerful impact of this year’s World’s Greatest Shave and Chop for Cancer. Over 30 brave students participated in the initiative, collectively raising $29,787 for the Leukaemia Foundation—an extraordinary testament to Kolbe’s compassion in action.
The Student Executive Team delivered a compelling reflection on perseverance, respect, and responsibility, urging students to finish the term with effort and integrity. A special moment of gratitude was directed toward Kolbe’s unsung heroes—support staff, groundskeepers, and admin workers—whose quiet contributions make our school a better place each day. The video tribute “Guess Who?” reminded all students of the importance of respecting people and shared spaces, especially as we walk forward together in our Kolbe community.
Sport Captains reflected on a spirited Term 2, celebrating strong teamwork and notable achievements. Kolbe placed 13th out of 70+ schools in ACC Cross Country. RKAS Netball and Basketball teams excelled, with several advancing to Finals Days.
ACC Letters are the highest individual honour from the ACC, awarded to students selected for an All Star team in the same sport over multiple years. This term, Lucia Anderson, Kaiya Williams, and Taine Williams received ACC Letters for swimming, recognising their outstanding commitment and contribution to the College and their respective Swimming clubs. The awards were presented by Mr Tom Bottrell, Director of ACC Sport WA.
As we approach the end of the semester, we commend all our House Award recipients, student leaders, and contributors across sport, service, and community life. Thank you to all who have made this term memorable.
