Week 8 saw MacKillop come together in the spirit of creativity and innovation for the annual STEM Challenge. During the extended PC, students were tasked with unleashing their imaginations by designing a cartoon character using playdough, alongside building a complementary Lego figure. These creations were then brought to life in a comic strip, collaboratively crafted by three students from each PC.
The competition was tight, with Fitzroy and Rose both impressing the judges, so much so that they couldn’t be split, resulting in a well-deserved tie for first place.
Meanwhile, students who excel in construction were challenged to design and build a tower that showcased both strength and height. Bayview rose to the occasion, building a tower that stood over 1 metre tall and claiming victory in that category.
It was fantastic to see all seven PCs fully engaged in the day’s activities. Events like these are what truly make MacKillop a special place to learn, grow, and collaborate!
