On Thursday 8 May, 260 of our Year 11 students and their mums and mother figures gathered for Kolbe Catholic College’s much-loved annual tradition – the Year 11 Mother’s Day Breakfast.
From the moment our VIP guests walked through the doors, the goal was simple – to make them feel valued, appreciated, and spoiled. For just one hour, life could pause, and students and their mothers could enjoy a precious moment together, away from the demands of daily life. It was a chance to reflect on the love, strength, and quiet magic that mothers bring to our lives, every single day.
As guests arrived, they were welcomed by a moving photo presentation that set the tone for what was to come. The morning began with the Kolbe Catholic College Mother’s Day Prayer, a heartfelt tradition that brings the community together in reflection and gratitude. Many families commented on how special and touching this aspect of the morning was.
Our outstanding Hospitality team truly shone, serving each table with warm smiles and seamless efficiency. Their professionalism and friendliness were recognised by many grateful guests. The quiches, in particular, were a standout – with multiple compliments flowing in for their flavour and presentation.
There was a steady line at the photo booth, with mothers and children taking the opportunity to capture the joy of the morning together. As gentle music played in the background, laughter and conversation filled the space, adding to the atmosphere of celebration.
No Kolbe Mother’s Day event is complete without a raffle, and this year was no exception. With loud applause and cheers for the winners, the raffle was a fun way to end a beautiful morning. But in truth, every mother present — and even those who couldn’t attend — were winners in our eyes, as they embody the spirit of service, strength, and sacrifice each day.
Guest Tam Pringle shared, “Thank you for an amazing morning alongside friends, all of the mothers, and my son on this Mother’s Day breakfast. It was greatly appreciated!”
Student Zayde added, “It was great to see everyone with their mums and having a big part of our year group together to enjoy the experience.”
A heartfelt thank you goes to all who organised this special event and to our incredible Hospitality team who helped make the morning so memorable. To all our mothers and mother figures – thank you for everything you do.
