Coming up soon is our second Wellbeing Wednesday for the year—a day for our school community to pause, reset, and look after our mental health. It’s easy to overlook our wellbeing when we’re busy with study, sport, and life in general, but small actions can make a big difference. At Kolbe, we promote the Five Ways to Wellbeing as simple, effective ways for our community to take care of their mental and emotional health.
- Connect – Spend time with friends or family.
- Be Active – Move your body; it boosts your mood.
- Take Notice – Slow down and appreciate the moment.
- Keep Learning – Try something new or challenge yourself.
- Give – Do something kind for someone else.
Once a term, on Wellbeing Wednesday’s, the Wellbeing Team encourages students to put one or more of the Five Ways to Wellbeing into action by getting involved in activities on offer around the school. This term, we’re proud to support Loyola House, who are leading the way with a Walk for Epilepsy fundraiser after school on Wednesday 21 May.
This important event helps raise awareness about epilepsy—an issue that affects many families in our community—and is also helping to raise vital funds for Loyola’s house charity, Epilepsy WA. The best part? You don’t need to be an athlete to take part. Just lace up your runners, bring your energy, and walk with us for a cause that matters. It’s a simple and powerful way to be active, connect, and give back—three of the Five Ways in one go.
Sign up this week and to show what we can achieve when we put wellbeing first.
And remember—there are plenty of other opportunities happening across the school in Week 4, so get involved, try something new, and make every moment count!
