Music Night

Dave Gryl – Music Coordinator

On Thursday evening, Stage 7 came alive with music as Kolbe Catholic College hosted its annual Senior Music Night. The event featured performances from Year 10, 11 and 12 Music students alongside Music Scholarship students from Years 7, 8 and 9, and the inaugural performances by the Jazz Band and the Vocal Ensemble, providing a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the breadth of musical talent across the College.

Students performed a diverse range of repertoire, showcasing the skills and confidence they have developed through classroom music, ensemble rehearsals and private tuition. The evening highlighted both individual and group performances, with students demonstrating technical skill, creativity and a passion for music.

Senior Music Night plays an important role in preparing students for future performances and assessments while giving them the chance to share their learning with family, friends and staff. It also provides younger scholarship students with valuable performance experience and the opportunity to perform alongside senior musicians.

Year 11 student Ruby reflected, “It was nice to see everyone come together for some great performances.”

“It was a great way to decompress after the school day and see all the different year groups supporting one another,” said Year 9 student Matilda.

The evening was a fantastic celebration of student achievement and demonstrated the strong sense of community within the Kolbe Music programme.
