Welcome back to the 2026 school year! As we begin a new year at Kolbe Catholic College, I want to extend a warm welcome to all our families—new and returning. We are excited for the year ahead and deeply committed to ensuring every young person feels known, valued, and inspired to engage fully in their learning.
This year, our focus is on strengthening student engagement through five key pillars that shape the heart of a Kolbe education:
Kinship — Belonging and Connection
We know students thrive when they feel a strong sense of belonging. In 2026 we will continue to:
- use trauma‑informed wellbeing practices that meet the needs of our students
- uphold shared standards that build respect and positive identity
- strengthen our pastoral structures and House system, helping every student feel part of something bigger than themselves along with 6 new PCs starting.
Ownership — Growing Excellence
Students will be supported in reaching their personal best with practical strategies such as study skills, diary use and organisational strategies. Taking ownership for their own learning is an important way for developing accountability and internal motivation.
Learning — Consistent, Evidence‑Based Practice
In 2026 we are renewing our commitment to high‑impact, evidence‑based teaching. Heads of Learning and teachers will continue to build their pedagogical leadership, helping ensure every student experiences strong, consistent learning across all subjects.
Believing — Faith in Action
We aim for each PC to be a daily place of welcome, prayer, and encounter with God. Our goal is to strengthen the sense of faith and belonging that sits at the heart of our Catholic identity.
Environment — Using New Spaces Well
With the excitement of our new gymnasium and surrounding facilities, we will be explicitly teaching students how to use and care for these new spaces, ensuring they remain vibrant, safe, and purposeful hubs for learning and community.
