Rising Leaders Reach New Heights

Jenefer Wiltschut (Head of Wellbeing)

As we approach the culmination of our Rising Leaders program, a remarkable journey unfolded for a group of eager Year 8 and 9 students. They embarked on an enriching day alongside their dedicated Year 11 mentors, set amidst the breathtaking backdrop of Nanga.

The day’s highlight was the challenging ascent of the climbing wall, a true test of determination and teamwork. Guided by their steadfast senior counterparts, these Rising Leaders scaled new heights, both figuratively and literally. The Year 11 mentors went above and beyond to support their younger peers, empowering them to surpass their perceived limits.

After the exhilarating climb, our group savoured the pristine natural surroundings, wandering through the campgrounds and along the serene riverbank. It was a day brimming with adventure, camaraderie, and personal growth.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Russell and Ms. Grosser, whose abseiling expertise added an extra layer of excitement to this unforgettable day. We are also grateful to our chaplain Matt Woodford for being wonderful company for our students throughout the activities.

The Rising Leaders Program continues to inspire and nurture our students’ leadership potential, reminding us all that, with determination and the support of our peers, we can reach new heights. We look forward to the future accomplishments of our Rising Leaders as they carry these invaluable experiences forward.
