Our College community recently gathered for our Season of Creation Liturgy, joining Christians around the world in a time of prayer, reflection and action for God’s creation and our common home.
Centred on our theme Living Water, the liturgy drew upon Ezekiel’s vision of a river flowing from God and bringing life wherever it goes. Students were invited to recognise creation as a gift from God, entrusted to our care rather than simply a resource for us to use.
Each Pastoral Care group reflected together before the liturgy and created a water droplet representing their commitment to care for creation. During the celebration, these droplets were brought forward and joined together on our Living Water sanctuary display, a reminder that small actions, when united, can create meaningful change.
Year 11 Leader Ella reflected, “Through prayer, scripture and reflection, we were reminded that caring for the environment is an expression of our faith and a way of showing gratitude for the gifts God has given us.”
Fellow Year 11 Leader Ryan highlighted the importance of community: “The liturgy showed the effect that a community can have when everyone comes together as one.”
As we continue through the Season of Creation, we are reminded that our encounter with Christ should shape the way we encounter the world around us. May Christ, our Living Water, renew our hearts and inspire our everyday choices so that, wherever we go, life may flourish.
