Last Friday evening, Kolbe’s Black Box Theatre came alive for our first-ever Senior Solo Night, an intimate and unforgettable celebration of performance, creativity, and collaboration. The space was transformed into a stylish cabaret lounge, setting the perfect tone for a night dedicated to showcasing the talents of our Year 11 and 12 Creative Industries Certificate students.
The audience was treated to a stunning lineup of solo monologues, each one crafted and delivered with heart, precision, and personality. From emotionally powerful narratives to clever comedic pieces, every performance highlighted the courage, versatility, and artistic voice of our senior students.
“I can’t believe I did it. Performed on stage on my own.” – Mya (Year 11)
The atmosphere was electric, with friends, family, and staff applauding each act with admiration and pride. It was a testament to the hard work our students have invested in developing their craft.
“It ran very smoothly, and the audience really enjoyed it.” – Oscar (Year 12)
But the spotlight didn’t belong to the performers alone.
Our talented Hospitality students added their own special flair to the evening, welcoming guests with refreshing drinks and serving up beautifully curated dessert boxes that delighted both the eyes and the tastebuds. Their professionalism and polish brought a real sense of occasion to the night, showcasing the strength of Kolbe’s vocational education programs.
Senior Solo Night was more than a performance event. It was a celebration of student achievement, cross-discipline collaboration, and the power of storytelling. A huge thank you goes to our performers, hospitality crew, dedicated staff, and the supportive audience who helped bring the night to life.
With such a strong debut, we’re excited to see Senior Solo Night become a new tradition at Kolbe. We’re already looking forward to next year’s encore!
