The year has begun in a meaningful way for our Year 9 students, with The Kolbe Way Day and Opening Ceremony marking the start of their journey into young adulthood.
Through liturgy, reflection, and hearing from past students, The Kolbe Way Day invited students to consider who they are and who they are becoming. The focus was on connection, challenge, and understanding the transition from childhood to adulthood.
This journey was formally acknowledged at the Opening Ceremony, where students were “called” to begin this next stage of life. Surrounded by parents, families, and mentors, students recognised that while this journey is personal, it is supported by a strong community. The ceremony emphasised gratitude for childhood, the courage to step forward, and the importance of guidance from those who walk beside them.
A powerful moment of the evening centred on the partnership between students and their families—acknowledging that growth comes with both independence and support. The presence of parents, loved ones, younger siblings and grandparents reinforced the shared nature of this journey.
The Kolbe Way continues to be a significant part of the Year 9 experience, supporting students as they grow in self-awareness, responsibility, and resilience.
