On 11 March, Xavier’s students and staff came together to celebrate Xavier House Day, a special occasion that recognises our House patron, St Francis Xavier.
The day began with a meaningful Mass, where students reflected on the story of St Francis Xavier and the values he represents within our community. During the Mass, our new Pastoral Care group, Santiago, was blessed by Father Vijay, marking the beginning of its place within our House and strengthening the sense of belonging among Xavier students.
We were also fortunate to welcome two representatives from The CREW, our House charity, who spoke to students about the important work they do to support members of our community that are experiencing hardship. Their visit helped students gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by members of our local community and the difference that small acts of generosity can make. Xavier students generously donated a range of items – from non-perishable food to toiletries – all of which will be supplied by The CREW to help ensure those less fortunate don’t go without.
Following Mass, students continued the celebration with a delicious cooked breakfast, giving everyone the chance to relax and enjoy time together as a House group. Throughout the morning, students also took part in a variety of games and activities, bringing plenty of energy and laughter to the day.
Thank you to the many staff and students who contributed to making Xavier Day such an enjoyable and meaningful celebration, and to the wider Xavier community for continuing to live out the spirit of our House.
