Year 7 students travelled to Woodman Point Recreation Camp during week 8 for their very first Kolbe Camp. It was a jam-packed three days full of activities, and it was a fantastic opportunity for the students to interact with each other outside of the classroom, build new friendships and strengthen their sense of belonging to the Kolbe community.
It was an exciting, busy, and exhausting few days (especially for the teachers) but students returned with smiling faces, lots of positive experiences and hopefully, many new friends. Here’s what a few of our Year 7s had to say about camp:
“We had a great time on camp. Our favourite activity was archery and we all managed to get close to a bullseye after some practise. It was also fun getting to spend time with our friends.” – Ali, Alexis & Emeline.
“Camp really made me grateful for what we have because sometimes we take things like air conditioning, TV and fresh water for granted. Even though camp was challenging, activities like Rock Climbing were fun and I had a great time.” – Rowan
“The food on camp was amazing and there was so much to eat! I loved the hot breakfasts but my favourite meal was Taco Tuesday.” – Uzziah
Enjoying the great outdoors with friends, feeling the sand and water between our toes, and spending time together beyond the classroom made Year 7 camp truly special and we hope it was an experience our Year 7s will cherish for a long time.
