Year 7 Camp

Dan Naden (Head of Year 7)

Over 200 excited Year 7s recently traveled to Serpentine Camping Centre for their very first Kolbe Camp. It was a jam-packed three days full of fun activities and a fantastic opportunity for our Year7s to interact with each other outside of the classroom, build new friendships and strengthen their bond.

It was an exciting, busy, and exhausting few days (especially for the teachers) but students returned with smiling faces, positive experiences and hopefully, many new friends. Here’s what a few of our Year 7s had to say about camp:

“My favourite part of camp was being in the pool. Even though the water was cold, it was a nice change from being outside in the heat. We played different water games and it was a great chance to make new friends.” – Tom

“The food on camp was really good. It was so tasty and there was a wide range of foods. My favourite was all of the treats we got at morning tea! Overall, I would rate the food on camp a 7/10. It was almost as good as my dad’s cooking at home.” – Brodee

“When we arrived at camp, we were given our dorm rooms. The rooms were a bit small and we didn’t have much space for our suitcases. And even though we didn’t get much sleep, it was pretty fun and I made a few new friends.” – Avlinn

Students and staff came back from camp abuzz with stories such as sprinklers going off in the middle of the night and the kookaburra’s wake up calls at 3:30am. Everyone agreed – Kolbe Camps are just the best!
